(PoliticalLookout.com)- You’ve heard of Big Mouth. It’s the Netflix series that sexualizes children and caused widespread controversy when it was first released at the end of 2017. The show is back in the news again, not because it’s popular, but because actress Jenny Slate has decided she can no longer be the voice of bi-racial cartoon character “Missy” on the series.
Incredibly, Slate said that being the voice of the pretend character was a matter of her using “white privilege” and taking part in the “erasure of Black people.”
The decision was made public in an Instagram post by the actress, in which she said her taking the role on the show was an example of her benefitting from a “system of societal white supremacy.”

Sounds like she jumped before she was pushed, doesn’t it…
Slate claimed that she only took the role when she was offered it because she rationalized it by saying the mother of the character was white and Jewish.
“But ‘Missy’ is also Black and Black characters on an animated show should be played by Black people,” she added.
Does she realize that these characters aren’t real?
She went on to apologize for her “white privilege” and groveled for forgiveness.
“I acknowledge how my original reasoning was flawed, that it existed as an example of white privilege and unjust allowances made within a societal system of white supremacy,” she explained. “In me playing ‘Missy,’ I was engaging in an act of erasure of Black people.”
Isn’t Erasure a band?
She then went on to say her portrayal of the character was just “One step in a life-long process of uncovering the racism of my actions.” Then, she apologized to all the people that she thinks she hurt by playing the character.
“I am so very sorry. Black voices must be heard. Black Lives Matter,” she ended.
So, if George Floyd wasn’t tragically killed in Minneapolis, would Slate still be playing the character? If so, isn’t that just as bad?
When will the madness end?
