(PoliticalLookout.com)- Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves announced this week that he would fight against lockdown orders that could be imposed in late January if Joe Biden and Kamala Harris take the White House. On Thursday, Reeves said that lockdowns are unreasonable and he would do what he can to stop the residents of his state from being impacted by the dangerous policy.
“I’ve been asked that if the legal challenges that are currently being contemplated play out and the former vice president ultimately becomes the next president, then what is going to change?” Reeves said. “What I will tell you is, even based upon some of the things that I have heard and said from his campaign, I will tell you I don’t think much of anything’s gonna change with respect to the virus.”
Reeves then said that he’s “gonna try to work with whomever the president is” but that he will not “participate in a nation-wide lockdown.”
“This notion that one of his advisers has said that all we really need is about a six-week national lockdown and we can slow down the spread of this virus is totally and completely beyond reasonableness,” he added. “The people of Mississippi can’t just go home, shut down their small businesses, shut down their restaurants, shut down their gyms, shut down other small business for six weeks and just think that you can come back six weeks from now, flip a switch, and everything’s gonna be fine. That’s not the way the economy works.”
No it’s not. But that’s how the Democrats think it can work.
The comments come after a top adviser to Joe Biden suggested shutting down the national economy for six weeks to slow the spread of COVID-19. Dr Michael Osterholm, a member of Biden’s new COVID-19 advisory team, said that the federal government should cover the cost of lost wages for workers and small and medium-sized companies and simply place the country under a total lockdown.
One of Biden’s new coronavirus task force doctors floating the idea of a 4-6 week lockdown:

However, European countries have already showed that lockdowns like this do not work. After spending months in lockdown in the United Kingdom, the British government has now placed the country under a second lockdown to once again control the spread of the virus. The British people are expected to leave lockdown on December 2.
Thankfully, it looks like the people of Mississippi don’t have to worry too much about this happening in their state.
