NYC Mayor de Blasio Criticized for ANTI-SEMITIC Tweet Threatening Arrests

(PoliticalLookout.Com)- New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio got a taste of his own medicine on Monday night when people came after him for singling out the Jewish community in a threat over social distancing measures. De Blasio, a Democrat, received the full wrath of Democrats and Republicans alike who noted the hypocrisy of treating President Trump and his Republican supporters as racists while singling out Jewish people in a tweet and threatening to arrest them over social distancing measures.

“My message to the Jewish community, and all communities, is this simple: the time for warnings has passed. I have instructed the NYPD to proceed immediately to summons or even arrest those who gather in large groups,” he tweeted.

“This is about stopping this disease and saving lives. Period.”

The tweet was ill-timed, as New York City has seen a huge upswing in anti-Semitic attacks in recent months. Violence against Jewish people in New York has been more frequent than at any point in American history, according to the New York Times, after five were recently injured during a knife attack at the home of a Rabbi in Monsey, and three people killed during a Jersey City kosher supermarket shooting.

In 2019, Jewish people were victims of around half of the 428 hate crimes that took place in the city.

Didn’t de Blasio think about this before tweeting?

His hypocrisy was noted by popular conservative talk show host and author, Dana Loesch.

“Going after Jewish people doesn’t erase your failure to order supplies until a week into March or failure to help nursing homes transfer coronavirus patients to Javits or Comfort,” she said.
