Over 110,000 California Residents Bought Guns Fearing Left-Wing Riots & Pandemic Chaos

(PoliticalLookout.com)- A new study from the Violence Prevention Research Program at the University California has revealed how more than 110,000 California residents bought guns during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, with some 43% purchasing them for the very first time.

It’s a significant finding in a state that is heavily populated by left-wing Democrats who support strict gun control laws.

The study also found that most people cited fear of lawlessness as a reason for purchasing their guns, suggesting that the November 3 election might have substantial numbers of voters choosing a candidate based on who can best stop the violence in the streets.

Researchers suggested that the pandemic was a primary motivating factor in the increase of firearms purchases in the state, and claimed that the Chinese coronavirus “exacerbated persistent structural, economic, and social inequities in the conditions that contribute to violence and its consequences.”

Interestingly, researchers didn’t reference left-wing violence once in the report. The reported claimed that the pandemic and lockdown had “compounded the burden of violence-related harms,” but did not at any stage discuss the violent riots that have affected Democrat-run cities all over the United States. California experienced plenty of these riots during the time the survey was taken between July 14 and 27.

If people are purchasing more guns and cities are being burned down by far-left extremists, there’s probably a link, right?

Not if you read the research paper.

Another interesting finding in the study was that the only category of violence that people said they weren’t worried about was mass shootings, something that gun control advocates always reference when defending stricter gun laws.

Black Lives Matter and Antifa riots got so insane in California recently that they culminated in one Black Lives Matter activist getting into her car and driving through a crowd of supporters of President Donald Trump. The 40-year-old woman was arrested on assault with a deadly weapon and attempted murder charges.

At least two people experienced major injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
