(PoliticalLookout.com)- After falsely claiming that Texas Senator Ted Cruz incited a violent insurrection, left-wing media outlets and Democrats are now attacking the Republican legislator for taking a vacation.
On Thursday, news media outlets blew up a story about Senator Cruz flying to Cancun, Mexico, the day before, suggesting that the timing was inconsiderate as hundreds of thousands of Texans were without water and power.
Texas faces its worst winter storm in decades, resulting in major power outages in the state. Over 2.5 million homes and businesses have been intermittently cut off from the state-wide power grid, with pipes bursting, homes flooding with water, and some two dozen people dying as a result.
Images of Senator Cruz at an airport with members of his family on Wednesday night quickly began making the rounds on Twitter, as left-wing activists jumped at the opportunity to attack him.
But it turns out…they got their story long.
Senator Cruz flew to Cancun airport with his family and spoke with the press before getting back on a plane straight back to the United States. The former presidential candidate and staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump revealed that his daughters had asked to take a vacation while school was canceled, and that he was accompanying them on the flight.
“With school canceled for the week, our girls asked to take a trip with friends,” Cruz said. “Wanting to be a good dad, I flew down with them last night and am flying back this afternoon.”
Here is the video of Ted Cruz from today saying his daughters asked him “yesterday” if they can go to Cancun. So according to Cruz, on Wednesday, the daughters asked to fly to Cancun, the Senator agreed, they bought tickets, they all got covid tested and flew out on the same day? pic.twitter.com/ALyQkqUDmg

Images of Cruz were circulated widely, with people snapping shots of him at the airport, on the plane, and various other places during his journey.

The Texas Democratic Party called on Cruz to resign – just as the Democrats did when he proposed objecting to the certification of Electoral College votes following the release of evidence of misconduct.
“Texans are dying and you’re on a flight to Cancun,” the state Democratic Party tweeted, along with the hashtag “#TedCruzRESIGN.”
Can Ted Cruz do anything without Democrats insisting he resign?
